Does anyone know if its possible to have engraving removed from silver trophies?  I have some really old ones (1950's) won for tennis (at wimbledon believe it or not!  ) that i want to get rubbed off & re-engraved for our club champ show. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Solid silver or silver-plate? With both, you'd end up with the trophy being somewhat thinner, depending on the depth of the engraving, and if not solid the trophy would need to be replated.

Could you have a plaque-affair fixed over the top of the existing engraving?

Sell them and get new ones designed for the club as they are probably worth something ?

JG, yes a plate is a good idea, may look into that if "removal" not an option :).
Lucy...have you seem modern trophies? Horrible modern tinny things....not inkeeping with my breed atall. :(  Think I will pursue the rtecycling of old one a bit longer yet. :)
