hopefully this will not sound like a petty criticism but it would actually be better not to use his NAME in a strict tone etc. Reason being that when we want our dogs' attention for anything, particularly recall outside, the first thing we naturally do is call out their name - hence we should always try and sound happy and upbeat when using their name - that helps ensure (with appropriate and consistent training and a good bond of course) that they are always happy and confident to return to us when called.
