I posted before and had loads of advice regarding my pup's apparent aggression towards me. We have had a turn around, last week he jumped at me while i was emptying the washing machine and ripped my favourite trousers. I shouted at him as i was really angry, and he backed off. he came back for a second go and i told him off like a teenager . I had a natural angry tone and told him i was very upset and i suggested he left me alone, (bit of a lecture really). My husband thought it was hilarious as he said my boy wouldnt understand a word i was saying. It was pure emotion, i was so upset, i dont have much in the way of clothes. Anyway, since then if he goes to do anything wrong i say his name in a not happy voice and he stops. His biting is now minimal and he stops when i say no. I think trying to make my voice low wasnt good enough and he didnt see me as pack leader, the telling off when i really was mega angry has reinstated me. Your advice also helped loads where other people were concerned, as i told them what you had said to do when he nips and they have taken notice. All round he has become much more affectionate towards me with kisses more than bites. He also spends more time with me now as he used to favour my husband. Thanks again everyone, you really helped when i thought there was no hope for our relationship. Your advice is priceless and im glad i found this forum.

hopefully this will not sound like a petty criticism but it would actually be better not to use his NAME in a strict tone etc.  Reason being that when we want our dogs' attention for anything, particularly recall outside, the first thing we naturally do is call out their name - hence we should always try and sound happy and upbeat when using their name - that helps ensure (with appropriate and consistent training and a good bond of course) that they are always happy and confident to return to us when called.
