Hello, Is it possible to have an isolated case of demodectic mange in 1 puppy from a litter of 9 with no littermates having the mange? The puppies will be 1 year old in August. This was the mothers 3rd litter and the dads 4th litter. With no previous problems(honestly)or i would not be asking. . Is it possible the puppy got the dem mange from other stressful problems that were not taken care of by the owner and the dogs immune system was just that run down? New owner is saying the puppy had a diarrhea problem for months that her vet could not diagnose.Thought it was from eating sand??? Is this possible or should I never breed my female and male again? I truly believe people should not breed dogs that get the mange. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
JG's reply sums it up on your other thread. All dogs ahve demodex mites, only those with compromised immune systems, often during a stressful time in their lives will ahve symproms of mange when the number of mites goes out of control.
For depleted immune systems or to just guarantee your dog's immune system doesn't become deleted, see the range of natural products that truly help at http://www.first4pets.co.uk They work and continue to work for my dogs. They are also 100% natural so no nasty drugs in there either!
