Hi I am currently feeding my pups on half/half salters/beta with a view to have them on beta when they are ready to go in a few weeks. (bit cheaper for new owners). The pups motions are quite loose any advice would be appreciated!

The same thing was happening to my bullmastiff so i changed her.

Warm regards Susan.

My Lab was the same on Beta Puppy.  Pets At home Puppy is very good, nice firm motions and is wheat/Gluten free too.

Thankyou bev B my pups are labs. All are doing well other than the motion problem. Is it to late to change before they go to new homes? Regards

If its not suiting them then its never too late to change them.  Just explain to the new owners so they don't change them back again.

Definately agree with Bev here :) I would try a different food, perhaps one with known meat sources and less by-products etc. Surely there are decent foods about with a decent price??  I think most new pet owners want the best for their pups,if you are going to take them off of Beta, maybe you can explain to them that the ingredients arent suitable for your dogs and steer them in the right direction.

I know some breeders who wont sell their pups to folk who are planning to feed commercial food,or who wont feed the particular commercial food they want their dogs on etc. etc.,which i think is fair enough!I saw a puppy advert the other day that made me smile,it said "Smokers and commercial feeders need not apply"

FTR i am not bashing commercial foods here,it's just that the above add obviously came from a very loving and dedicated breeder who has every right IMHO to dictate what their dogs are raised on ;)

Autarky do a puppy food, wheat + gluten free and the first ingredient is....................Chicken :D  no preservatives, no colourants etc.  and its about the same price as Beta :D
