Hi If anyone can help just got a puppy and have a two year old weimaraner. The two year old is a light brown and the puppy is silver grey they have the same parents is there anything i should have done or can do to keep her silver,any help will be helpful.

I suppose it depends on whether you can keep her out of the sun permanently ;) this is known to rust silver coats :rolleyes: :D :D :D
Seriously tho, what colour was your 2year old when it was a pup?? If it was a silver colour then its likely the pup will be the same as the 2 year old when its older. I have noticed tho that Weimeraners seem to be mostly browny/mousy silver these days rather than the cool bluey silver grey I used to see way way back when I were a girl. Its genetic I'm afraid, but you could always contact the breeder to see if he/she can give you any info.
Whatever shade she grows up to be I'm sure she'll be gorgeous :D

all puppies will be silver grey at first, they can then turn into either of the other KC standard colours of roe or mouse grey, or even, if they are mismarked, develop peach points like dobermann markings, although these can generally be seen at birth.
Sun and diet can have an effect on colour.
