We recently tried to breed my bitch, it has been only a week and I am impatiant. How long until I know w/o a vet if she is pregnant? Any tips for an at home test?
Hi am new on here, but not new to this site . i have been breading dogs for years . and i have mated one of my bitchs 3 weeks ago and iam now playing the waiteing game ,i think she is in pup but only time will tell .I tend to no by the time they reach 5 weeks as i look for changes in shape iam not to good at spelling so please bear with me. the bitchs vover stays up from when she was in seson and at 35 days she will have a creamy discharge that is a reliable indercation of being in pup os try to be patient regards debbie.

A scan after 28 days is a reliable way - also an experience vet will be able to feel the pups after this time too.

You may not be sure until she gives birth. If it is an avergae or large litter you can usually be fairly sure at 5 to 6 weeks, so the vet will be able to tell a lot sooner, about 23-28days if expert at palpation, and usually 28 days plus if scanning.
