I have just started doing flyball training with my WSD meg, and we're hooked! Do any other champdoggers do flyball?

No but I would love to :-))

I'd love to as I have two ball-mad dogs :) But I'm a bit worried about the affect on the joints - anyone have any knowledge of this ?

I don't know much about the joints, however my group is run by a vet, whose collie has already had an op for hip displasia(not caused by flyball) but she still runs her in both flyball and agility, so i would presume that done correctly it would be ok.

Would love to do flyball but no one does it around here.  Will just have to stick with agility on its own.  God what a shame....

All 3 of mine do it and they love it! Middle collie has been timed and is faster than the Crufts dogs which is b***dy fast! We do an hours flyball before agility training on a Thursday night and to be honest could do with it before comps too as it really tires them out. Good fitness training though and really effortless for me, I just stand there!

Hi do other breeds participate in flyball or is it just collies, i dont think my westie and lab would be record breakers but im sure they would love to have a go.:-)

i have a collie that does flyball and also, my chinese crested and rottie and have just taken on a cross jackrussle and looks like she is going to be as fast as the rest.

I run a local flyball team and we have the collies and gsd and crosses and smooth collies and my chinese crested two rotties, some shelties, labs, spaniels cocker and springers, husky, akita, they may not be the fastest dogs in the world but they love it. so it is not just a collie domain at our club.

Enjoy watching it for a short period but couldn't cope with the barking unfortunately :d  The dogs seem to love it.

We have a jack russell, a lab and americal cocker with a full coat and a toller in our group, so certainly not just collies.

My 7 year old daughter does flyball with her munsterlander dog Kai. She is in a team now and they have their first competition on Saturday. Fingers crossed.
