Hi, Has anybody seen the newborn range of disposable whelpings boxes on `pet play pads`. I have orderd one and just wonderd if any one has tried and tetsed them? Seen as I very occasionaly breed I thought it would do the trick. Someone suggested i line the sides with plastic covering and tape when she gives birth to protect the box from damp spillages etc then when she cleaned up it can be removed.
Because its only an expensive card board box I`m no wondering if it will last a full 8 weeks the puppys will be in it?

Hi Guest,

I used one and it was great - didn't want to have the storage nuisance of a permanent one ;)   Guess how long it lasts for you is a bit like how long is a piece of string - will depend on your breed and how many and how active the puppies are I should think.  Mine lasted until about 5 weeks by which time they'd started to peel off the layers but to be honest by then I would have been moving them out of it anyway.

Stayed fresh and clean no problem - base is coated with a sort of waxed film which prevents liquids soaking through if you change papers etc regularly (which I'm sure is your plan).  It is a heck of a price for a cardboard box though.   Teri  :)
