For those of you who don't already know 'the Welsh Assembly are
offering grants to farmers for the purpose of building kennels so that they
can breed puppies about which they know nothing and then sell them to
dealers who will retail them completely indifferent to their fate'
This was the basis of Killick's Column in Our Dogs (6 June 2003). This is
all part of the Farming Connect Service that provides a complete package
of assistance to help family farms in Wales (scheme provides grants for
building kennels and exercise yards, and also 'training').

It seems quite unbelievable that a government body are providing
money that encourages people to breed dogs for nothing more than profit.
Effectively they are funding unskilled dog breeders when council
pounds are having to spend money housing and then putting to sleep
thousands ofunwanted/stray dogs a year. This sort of practice would also add to the terrible burden small rescues have trying to save these dogs.

your local MP and AM.

Thats un-believablly stuipid!! i bet they wont even be ISDS if there collies, i bet there all going to start breeding the dogs that sell for more money or designer crosses.

I wrote in years ago and so did a lot of us and all we got was a standard reply. 

There is also another message re; the Welsh Governements attitude to this abomination, with a contact no. to have your say.
The message is a couple down on this same list and is also headed " Puppy farms " 
Please everyone;   Let these Government Agencies know how you feel about this.  The more complaints, the more they are going to have to sit up and take notice.
These farms have been running for many years, and many puppies/dogs/new owners have suffered.
They need  SHUT DOWN.
