Well done to ALL concerned
Sharon
Brilliant isn't it! :)
I may be wrong but am fairly certain Banya's litter brother was on the team, but he wasn't mentioned ... maybe he was a reserve or went for an individual medal? Not quite sure how it all works...

Well done to all the team. Still think its a shame that you cant take mutts into the team because of the rules.
Well done to all.
absolutely wonderful. Nice to know that the country that invented the sport still tops it. Being a newbie to it, it makes you feel proud to be British.

Now why was'nt it shown on T.V. ? I'm sure they'd be an audience for some of the canine 'sports' what do others think ?
Yvonne
I so wish they would show it on Tv!!! I would be glued.

Olympia horse show in December has agility... they show it better than crufts!
It was the belgian shepherd world champs that GB won, so was only open to belgian shepherds! I'm so pleased for Andy, Skye is stunning and has been so successful at such a young age :)
Hi Yvonne, The World Champion 2 year old dog belongs to my trainer and he is a lovely boy. I am so pleased for him that I haven't stopped smiling all week :-) I have been away so haven't been training but I will see him on Wednesday and I can tell you he is over the moon with his dogs achievement (and the rest of the team of course!) Unlike the "other" british agility team these guys have to raise the funds themselves or they wouldn't be able to go at all. If any of you that do agility have ever seen Andy's youngster run a course you will know just how good he is and how much he deserves this, what a star! :-D :-D :-D :-D

Give him my best CONGRATULATIONS when you see him next - we are all so proud of the team's achievements - an article for the newsletter would be GREAT too ( when he has the time ;) ).
Cheers
Yvonne
Many congratulations from me too; it's a huge achievement and as Yvonne said, we are all very proud of the team :)

it was the belgian shepherd world championship show - only open to the various types of belgians, hence no other breeds! GB won both the team and the individual!! whcih was of course, excellent!
the main world champs is valladoid (sp?) in september, agilitynet site is the best place to find out about the teams etc and updates of what is going on, also they tend to list times for tv programmes too, olympia was shown loads on eurosport last year, maybe if the bbc had a load of pressure they could show a little bit?

Just heard that our team will not be allowed to defend their title next year as entries are now being restricted to countries that are affiliated to the FCI only - talk about a bad loser

- wonder if they'll eextend that to the showing world too ? and if they do should we prevent FCI affiliated countries from competing at Crufts ;)
Yvonne
Hi Yvonne
The reason that they have made this decision is that non member countries don't contribute any funds. Personally I think that the KC will now go back on it's original decision and join the FCI. The only trouble is that under FCI rules non pedigree's are not allowed to compete so there would have to be an exception made as there are a lot of these dogs in agility. The "all breeds" world championship later this year isn't really what it sounds as a lot of really good dogs are not allowed to go. I have passed on your details so you may be hearing from them soon, he still hasn't come back down to earth bless him :-D

Thanks :D
now that would be interesting if the KC joined the FCI - our breed would be in turmoil as our intervariety mating option was finished sometime ago and the registration of Tervs from Groens etc has only a little while left to run ( watch the chaos that ensues then folks

) BUT the FCI alows Intervariety matings to continue and cross registration - how will the KC square that circle ?? ( and I'm sure we're not the only breed with such anomolies ;) )
