hi i need some help, a few weeks back some men kicked my fence in and stole some things from my shed but sadly my dogs where in the garden and they all got out 1 is still missing but the other two came back. but one of my bitches that came back is pregnant about 6 weeks i think, i have only just realised as she has got very large all of a sudden and her teats are huge. i am now very worried as she is only 11 months so she was around 10 months when a dog got hold of her. i didnt even know she was in season as i thought it was two early. i feel really stupid now and it must of been when she got out when the men broke in. i dont have a clue what the father is but she is a cocker spaniel.
i guess its to late now to do anything, but i know there is enough puppies in this world with out more. i feel really sad please dont shout at me i am worried for my baby and i just want to know if she will be ok, will she be able to deliver them like a normal mum, what are the chances of her knowing what to do, cause i have heard they may not be mature in the head. what can i do to help her i will have her spayed after this, but i waited cause i was told its best to let them have two seasons first. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

It is not too late, she could be speyed and the foetuses removed.  She is a little young to be speyed but she has had one season and cockers mature reasonably fast the alternative is to allow her to have a litter possibly to a much larger dog that would put her life at risk during the whelping and leave you with the unenviable task of finding suitable homes and lifetime responsibility for puppies that you know nothing about in terms of temperament or health of the sire, not to mention you will not have had any breed relevent tests on the mother done yet.  They are therefore not going to be easily matched to the right homes.....if you can find any..

I hope you find the one that is still missing. You were lucky they only broke into the shed, they could have stolen your dogs as there is a gang stealing dogs to order and shipping them abroad. Some of the dogs, once abroad, are sold on street markets. Are you checking the rescue kennels vets and putting out posters for the missing dog?
What breeds or x-breeds are your dogs? Particularly the missing one? Perhaps you might consider signing the Stolen dog petition to get the authorites to take this type of theft more seriously than they currently do.
