Trio has learned to go out to toilet and runs to the door :) Joy! Hes into his second puppy collar and lead, he's lost a wee tooth and grows hourly. Now all his injections are done hes a Free Range Boxer :) Having a puppy is fun. Today he found a snail in the garden, by tomorrow he'll be large enough to jump up on Stinkfoot's bed and tease Big Eck with a teddy for a change.
Well done Trio :) and Lorlei :D Having a puppy is fun, hard work but so, so much fun!
Idõ will be six months on Monday, its flown by, seems like only last week we were getting excited about him starting to show the first signs of being toilet trained, taking him out for his first 'walk', in the snow, his first visit to the beach, the first everything really, its all so exciting :D Oh, and the first milk tooth coming out..I managed to collect SIX of them...was quite proud of myself for that and still have them!!!

Ps Idõ is almost ready for his FOURTH puppy collar!! One of them lasted all of two weeks before he was popping out of it :D And I still have the others...just as mementos, you understand..I'm so not already planning the next addition ;) !!!!
Love his name - what breed is he?

Hi Lorelei Its great fun having a puppy isn;t it. ut don;t be fooled into thinking the snail thing is a puppy fettish Tess still brings snails in now at 11 months :) But she has taken to hiding them in her bed (as a midnight snack maybe!) but we now have to check her bed for snails before bedtime - she is not impressed.
Mine has actually taken to ripping bl**dy great fence panels off in the garden! In desperate attempt to get next door! He thinks he's steve mcqueen! But theres no escape!

Buffy is now 6 months old today... scary! She loves snails as well, she stands and and crunches them in front of me, very proud of her self! revolting! she's dug under the fence several times, and been handed back to me over the fence now there is a series of bricks round the edge of the garden to stop her redigging the holes we've covered up! She went swimming in the stagnant pond at a friends house after her friend 4 month old Kai the black lab went in she thought she'd follow ( her nice white coat- green!). Bless who'd have thought the puppy asleep in her bed was a mini monster!!!

Thanks for that, I try not to let her eat them and take them off her at every opportunity (as i know they can make them ill) and put them in the bin as I know they can be homing and return to the garden they live, but at 6 months and a naughty parsons terrier her recall is still in the learning stages, especially if she knows shes got something she shouldn't have ( you should try getting socks of her!) however the veterinary theory is nice to have and something to bear in mind if she does get ill!

A puppy I bred was very ill because of this, and her owners have to have her on monthly Panacur as they haven't been able to break her snail eating habit.
Sorry, am a bit late replying to this, haven't seen the post for a while..anyway :D but so as not to be rude will reply now :)
Idõ (prounouced E-DOE incase you weren't sure!)is a Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla and his name means 'time' in Hungarian, his registered name is Leiborschy Idõ of Vorosarkany so we decided to keep the Idõ bit as it is unusual and we did wait about 7/8 months for him so it seemed quite appropriate :D

Love the name Trio ;)
Pleased that you're enjoying the the puppyhood stage although I always liken it to the Mafiahood :D
They hold you to randsome, terrorise the weakest members of society (family in this case), blackmail you something rotten and are thoroughly dodgy characters that you wouldn't trust with your life :D The word "hood" ain't in the word for nothing.
I must be one of the few members on here that can't wait for my 5 month old thug to grow up. I never have liked the juvenile stage, I know I have to tolerate and educate to get to the end result
If she was human, we wouldn't be on speaking terms by now

Has he discovered how nice it is to discover what is underneath the grass/flowers/plants/gravel yet? ie,
digging If not, maybe him and turbo paws could get together for some well needed evil influence :P
Don't worry HP, my mam also cannot wait for the puppy stage to be over and for Idõ to be a perfectly (:D) well behaved 2 year old!!!
I just love all the puppy-ish stuff he does, that look they give you when in the process of destroying something..although Idõ prefers to steal the mail and just carry it around, bless him :D I expect it will get harder , he is only just getting to that stage now but there is light at the end of the tunnel..or at least there was with Kayla and we coped(just!)with her teenage antics so this should be a sinch!!!
Watch this space :D

Gosh, its taken ages for me to see this! :) Trio is a stubborn wee thing - hey hes a Boxer! Big Eck is taking his paternal responsibilities seriously and has told him off this morning for not doing as Granma says. Hes pretty good on asking to go out now so we let him up to the living room and he promptly toddled off and dumped in Gothboy's lair :) Gothboy's hysterics were really comic considering I wouldnt enter the lair without a flame thrower. Last night Trio got his whole head into Silverback's boot then jumped back sneezing and wrinkling his corrugated nose even further up in disgust :D Hes still bemused by sit and down although come is pretty good so I will enjoy this for the remianing 3 months before it changes to roaming. Great hearing about all the other puppies.
