Topic Dog Boards / Health / Unexplained runny bum
- By Cyrus [gb] Date 24.05.05 20:08 UTC
Cyrus is a 10 month old husky pup hes fed on burns fish and brown rice and loves it, only problem is hes getting a little bit of a runny bum.
When we first started feeding the burns we fed it dry and his poop was nice and firm (sorry for these descriptions) and he didnt do many a day , excellent we thought, but we found Cyrus didnt enjoy eatting the burns dry and was finding it hard to swallow sometimes (always fresh water available) so we started to add a little water to it (just enough to soak) and he found it much easier to eat and enjoyed it all the more.
Now the problem is his poo the first bit that comes out is nice and firm then then rest is quite runny....I dont know what could be causing it.

Do you think it could just be the water I am adding to his feed or could it be something else (he is always wormed etc at the right time etc)

Many thanks

hi....
i spoke to burns regarding something similar with my pup (4mths) they told me that a good sign of a dog being over fed was soft to  runny poo. i adjusted the feed amount and kai is now back to normal poo's. i still add a little water with his feeds too. have you recently increased the amount of food per day?
if so then that might be cause :-)
