I wonder if anybody has any suggestions on the following.  I have a 10 months old Bracco Italiano puppy.  She is house-trained and is a wonderful girl.  However, when I say she is house-trained that means that she will go to the door to be let out and if the door is shut she will come to me and parade in front of me so that I know she needs out.  If I'm not there she just does it on the floor.  As I am normally with my dogs during the day or if I leave them they are only left alone for a couple of hours at a time, this is not a problem during the day.  When we go to bed at night I have to have her in the bedroom with me where she has her bed and I have to shut the bedroom door.  If I leave the bedroom door open she will go downstairs during the night and poo or pee on the carpet.  If the bedroom door is shut she will last until the morning.  My mum had this problem with her lab x when she was young and had to keep the bedroom door closed until she was past a year old and then she seemed to be OK.  Has anybody else experienced this problem?  Is it normal in the larger breeds for them to become fully house-trained more slowly?  I haven't had this problem with any of my other dogs.  I'd appreciate any advice anyone could give.  Thanks a lot.
