My dog had a stroke 4 days ago and I have been reading about the drug Vivatonin.  Does anyone have any expirence with the drug as that could be useful to me.  I live in the US and can order the drug but cannot find anyone with any information.  My dog Bob is 13.

Any information will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Brent, many years ago I had an Irish Setter bitch that was prescribed Vivitonin following a stroke too. As far as I remember, it increases cerebral blood flow. Once commenced, it should not be stopped, it should be regarded as a lifelong treatment. My bitch recovered well and survived another 12 months, before suffering another stroke at which point I chose euthanasia. By this time she was 13 years and 10 months old.

Good luck to you and your boy.
