could anyone tell me at how many days old a puppy should open its eyes and also when it should start to walk.

Many breeds are different.  My Spanish can open their eyes from 9 days onwards and will be up on their feet once their eyes are open, but from other breeds that we've had this is not the norm.  Most breeds eyes open around day 14, some of my Pom's have been later.
