Hello,
I have been 'owned' (LOL) by my 'wonderful beagle' for a year or so now,and had always longed for/intended on having two or three eventually.
As time has gone on and he's got bigger i've spent alot of time thinking about 'the next one' and although i fully intend on getting another of my own at some stage i've found myself more and more interested in the rescue side of things.I have looked at lots of welfare sites for various breeds on the net and also beagle welfare, and feel i would really enjoy and be in a good position to 'foster'(if there is such a thing?)I am at home full time(as i am taking a few years out from the rat race!!)and have a quiet but active family(one 8yr old son and a gorgeous hubby!!LOL,)But to be honest i'm not sure where i would start and whether or not i would need to be qualified in any area such as behavioural/medical issues. How do i go about this, and is there a need for people to temporarily 'put dogs up' and take care of them whilst they are being found a shelter or home?If anyone has any experience or advice they could give me,or know of any organisations i could contact i would be very grateful.I live in the Peterborough area,East Anglia.
Thankyou.
