Did you see the RSPCA's Alert. that white and pink lillies are poisonous to  pets.
A cat brushed against a vase of lillies and the pollen went on her coat.
Minutes after she licked herself clean. The siamese was violently ill. She died a few hours later.
Blindness, liver failure, sickness and dehydration.
I am shocked as I nearly always have a vase on the hearth in front of one of the fires.
I know the pollen stains, But.......... My dogs.
I just thought you would all like to know.

No! I don't, I am so shocked myself, My pup was always interfering with the vase's I had on the hearth,
But, what I would do if the dogs ect; interfere with them just cut the middles out that have the pollen on.
And wash your hands after.............
The couple that have lost the cat, are trying to get the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons poison department to produce an information factsheet.
Lets hope they do!!!

All flowers belonging to the lily family (sorry I don't know the Latin name) are potentially lethal to cats.  If the pollen is ingested by a dog (or a human for that matter) it can make them ill but they are able to metabolise the toxin, which cats cannot do.  It's probably best to keep them away from all pets in any case.
