Well thought this might amuse you all. I've been on nights at work getting home about 5.30-5.45am. Well this morning Thursday I turned into my road to see Oscar (my cat) sitting outside the corner shop at the top of the road I stopped wound the window down and called to him.
I did wonder what he was doing there, its by a semi main road and he rarely ventures that far - I thought He just strolled across the road towards me I opened the car door and he just got in. A man waiting for the shop to open said "I've seen it all now a hitchhiking cat" Oscar just sat on the front passenger seat as if he did it every day and I drove down the road and pulled up opened his door and he hopped out.
He hates the car when going to the vets etc. But this is the fourth or fifth time in about 8 years he's met me when I've done nights. Odd eh?
Great story - and if your cat is a hitchhiker then my neighbours former cat was a parking attendant :)
Our neighbourhood only has off street parking and everyone tends to rush home early to secure their space on the road - if our neighbour Dave hadn't got their earlier enough to secure a car park, he never need worry, his clever cat would hunt down a spare park and sit in the middle of it until Dave finally arrived home from work. His friendly feline would then step up onto the curb and wait for him to park.
Heaven forbid anyone try and take that spare space away from his cat :)
