Does anyone know if it would be safe to put herbal flea drops onto my bitch.  She is on day 60 and I was wondering whether or not to do both pepsi and sam(dog) at the same time.  It does,nt mention not to give to pregnant bitches but does say not to give to nursing bitches.  I usually use frontline but realise that this def. can,t be used on preg. bitch. Any ideas what else I could poss. use.

I use frontiline on my pregnant bitches and never had any problems, it says you can on the lable and I asked my vet to confirm it, you can also use it on puppies from 2 days old.

hi, I have also been told by my vet that its fine to use Frontline on pg bitch. although im im guessing that you [or i] would want to use it so close to whelping incase of any residue on her coat?  Does she actually have fleas or is she due a preventative dose?

She,s just due a preventative dose.  I usually dose sam and pepsi together.  I have gone ahead and used the herbal on him but I think I,ll wait now till pups are two weeks old and use frontline spray on her and pups together.

Personally I wouldn't use herbal flea drops on a preganant bitch at any stage, or on the young pups.  Herbs can be as dangerous as many other drugs and most of them are not suitable for use during pregnancy.  You could always use a fine toothed comb if her coat is suitable :)
