I am looking for a blue roan cocker spaniel puppy. Our previous blue roan came from a breeder in Yorskhire and he had a full history and showname of Murraylake Sweepstake ('Sweep') so we will be a good and suitable home for a new puppy.

Time span is not a problem for us, Sweep died unfortunately at the age of 11, but he had a very good life. The puppy will have attention every day as he/she will not be part of a long houred working household at all and will be around lots of family including one child. We would be happy to show sweep's previous kennel club and history details if this would ensure our suitablility for one of your puppies.

Have you contacted any of the Cocker Breed Clubs in Yorkshire/North of England, assuming you are from that part of the world? They can often put you in touch with breeders who might have pups available or be expecting a litter. I vaguely remember "Murraylake"as a kennel name but I'm pretty sure the breeder is no longer active. Don't worry about showing Sweep's pedigree to breeders - they will be more interested in the home you have to offer now & the time you have to commit to a new puppy.

I purchased my Cocker from the Murraylake Kennels 10 years ago, it was a Mrs Mahoney who lived near Goole in Yorkshire who was the breeder, I think the village was Snaith. She may still be breeding - directory enquiries may help.

I can recommend Elaine Thomas of Claramand Kennels...I have recently bought a black cocker pup from her, but she does breed blue roans too. Her website is Claramand Cockers, she is very nice and will help you in any way she can. She lives in Melton Mowbray in Leicester.
