Is there a herbal suppliment or something like garlic? I can give to my dogs to prevent Bloody ticks, I dont mind using Frontline but would rather go a more natural route if possible. Thankyou in advance for any replies.

I was wondering this today whilst removing two ticks from each dog and one from the cat :(  they are all treated regularly with frontline / strong hold but still pick up ticks.  I was wondering if there was anything to repel the ticks - they are so grim :(

A little teatree oil dabbed around the head and feet when you are heading into likely territory, avoiding the eyes and mouth, might repel the little blighters.

You can buy tea tree lotion and even a spray from Jolleys especially for dogs and cats. It says on my bottle "...........it may also act as a natural repellent against fleas and other skin parasites". HTH :-)

Excellent, I might have to invest in some of that, although I think my boys pick alot up just from the garden but the occasional spray with that stuff might prevent some of the little blighters.

If t-tree does work you can buy them in facial cleansing wipes from Superdrug, I think they are only 99p for a pack of 20.
