Can anyone tell me a bit about old time bulldogs? My partner and I have been reserching into getting a KC bulldog but were worried about the health problems of the breed so we started looking at old time bulldogs. there seems to be a lot of confusion about how these dogs are bred, some look like bulldogs and some look more like american bulls. does anyone know of a breeder who is willing to be honest about how these dogs are bred because a lot seem to be very cautious about saying how their dogs are bred, and we dont want to end up paying a lot of money for what is essentially a badly bred pitbull cross!
thanks

Before you believe the stories from breeders of these dogs that they are healthier than Kennel club registered Bulldogs, please do a search on this site and on the web, before you decide this is the dog for your family.
Here's a post to start you off!

In comparison to Bulldogs they dont cost that much money :)
I`m not going to waffle on about how good or bad I happen to think how great these dogs are, feel free to e-mail me and I will give you some links where you can research the breed or visit a couple of forums and speak to people who own these dogs.
With the Olde Tymes that are bred in the UK you will find that theres no Pit Bull blood in them, most of the dogs have come from very well known Bulldog lines, I think you maybe have been listening to scaremonging amongst people that do not happen to know an awful lot about this breed :)
