My 15 month old staff bitch wont eat, she goes through periods every now and then were she wont eat for about 3-4 days, but this time she has gone 10 days and i feel a bit worried there is something wrong, am i worrying over nothing ? should i feed her something else ? plus i am wanting to get her spayed as she is 3 months after her first season and i have read this is a good time to get it done. also she will eat treats and suitable leftovers should i give her thses or be strick and give her nothing untill she finally eats her own food ?
please help
Hi i would just give her her own food. staffys can have a tendancy to put on weight if you are feeding her leftovers its not a balanced enough diet for her. If she is fussy put a bit of gravey on her dinner or tuna.
3 months after a season is the best time to get them speyed and she is just right as you say.
All the best Gwen

Hi, wow a staff that dont eat that must be a first!!!But if your girl thinks if she doesn't eat shes going to get lots of yummy treats and left overs then she isn't gonna eat!! she isn't daft lol Give her her own food and she'll eat when shes hungry she won't let herself starve. However, i would say if she still went for a length of time without eating anything i personally would take her to the vets just to make sure everything was ok.
Hi
I have the same problem with my staff. Have a look at some of the replies I got on my post on the 'feeding board'. Its calles Soxy wont eat his dinner. The advice was very helpful. Following my final post Sox has again stopped eating but is happy and healthy so I am not going to worry too much.
Let me know how you get on
