No this doesn't sound normal.  Get your girl to the Vet ASAP!!

we normally find our girls go off there food in the first few weeks of pregnancy, try and feed her by hand normally this will tempt them to eat .

It's probably due to all the hormones running around her body with all the changes going on she probably just feels abit nauseious, how long has she been off her food?
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 10.05.05 21:56 UTC
Scrambled eggs and chicken, given by their mummy's hand, sat there for ever waiting for them to eat usually works for me :d  eventually !!

Hope all goes OK, it's such a worrying time.

I had one that didn't eat through the whole pregnancy.  It got to the point where I had to grind up food with everything yummy and healthy and spoon it into her mouth and close her mouth.  I'm hoping she is pregnant right now she is aprox 29 days from the first breeding and eating great  this time !   Most usually start eating again but she never did.

shes been off food for about four days now, she has been sick today, ill try the eggs and cat food see if that works.when should her appetite return worried as she is losing weight

If she starts losing to much condition i personally would take her the vet to get her checked out and see what advice they can offer you.

Good luck, Susan

Yes, take her to the vet and ask for a scan. This doesn't sound right to me. Make sure they take her temp - or you can 101.5 F is normal. More than a degree over that and there is a problem for sure. Recently mated bitches can get pyomtera - though its rare- it can happen, which is life threatening.  Is she very thirsty? If so get her to the vet, and if they do nothing get a second opinion fast.

hi just thought id let you know kia is on day 57 is very fat eating well. does anyone know what the norm if there is a norm with a first litter how long they go and if they go past 66 days how long would you leave it before contacting vet.judt want to be prepared for birth thanks
- By kiababe [gb] Date 15.06.05 21:12 UTC
sorry just thought id add she has got milk. is this a sign
- By krankypuss [au] Date 16.06.05 00:19 UTC
Hi kiababe.. AT day 57 I wouldnt be concerned yet. My bitch had pups 7 seven days ago at 70 days. It was unusual and I would not recommend letting her go that far AT ALL. We ended with a c-section and had a very lucky outcome. Most I hear do not. It is hard to say about the milk as it does in my experience differ with each bitch..
Best of Luck and let us know how it all goes...
