what ages are best in pups?
Mum was wormed about 2 weeks before welping & I will be using panacure - the vet said start at 2 weeks & worm every 2 weeks.
I tend not to worm often (once a yr) & use garlic in mums food insteed.
I think 2 weeks may be a little young?
My mum worms her yorkies at about 6 weeks & again before they go at 12 weeks.
What do you all do?

Hi tenno,
According to Panacur liquid instructions - it says to worm at 2 weeks, 5 weeks, 8 weeks and 12 weeks of age. I have just completed the 5 week 3 day course. The pups had colic aged 2 weeks when I wormed them and at 5 weeks they seem to have loose bowel movements so I am really not sure what to advise you on this. Having read some other posts, it seems problems with Panacur isn't unusual in puppies. Ugh - blasted worms! Sorry I can't be of more help but I am sure others more experienced will be along to help you.

My litters are wormed at 2 weeks and 5 weeks with Panacur liquid, then at 8 weeks, and 12 weeks, then every 3 months thereafter.
Panacur liquid has made many many puppy ill - search Panacur on this site and make up your own mind. But I would use Drontal or Strongid if I were you. I nearly lost a litter of pups when I wormed a 2 1/2 litter with on on my vets recommendation. Never again, they were VERY poorly, they did all recover but I know whole litters that died after worming with liquid Panacur.
It has happened to too many people I know, too often for it to be a "co-incidence" or " the pups had a very heavy worm burden" or "they were ill will something else" which is what the vets will say when you take a litter of severely ill Panacur wormed pups to them.
I think 2 weeks is too young too. I worm with Strongid paste at 3 weeks to the day and then Drontal at 6 and 9 weeks.
