Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / hip scores

Please forgive my ignorance.  I am looking for a Long haired GSD pup and have spent hours and hours going through sites etc.  Anyway I know that the sire should be haemaphillia tested and both the sire and the dam should have hip scores below 19.  My query is about the pups.  I have come accross a site which has pups available and says that they have been hip scored and are within KC guidelines.  I always thought that a dog could not be hip scored until it was about 1 year old.
Just a thank you to everyone who answers queries on this site.  I am fairly new to it, and am picking up very useful bits of info, and enjoy reading the solutions and answers that are given.
Thanks.

no dog can be hip scored under the KC/BVA scheme until they are 12 months old.

it might be refering to the parents?

Thanks for the replies.  It was definately reffering to the pups, thats why I was confused.

Then avoid those pups like the plague, because the breeder's telling untruths. Ask yourself, what else might they be lying about?
