On Bank H Monday there is a craft show near us. We went last year before we got our dog.
We really want to go tomorrow, it is so much fun and there are lots of dog shows, agility, ferret racing etc etc but can't decide whether to take Desi with us. We want her to experience as many new things as possible and this would be fantastic for her but I am worried that it might be too much for her to have a full day out. We would stop and sit down on the grass and have a picnic, we wouldn't spend the whole time walking and plan to leave the house at 10.30am and make a day of it, coming back home around 15.00. At nearly a year old is she too young to take to something like this and spend a day out?
Thanks
Van

god no... she'll love it we take our dogs to lots of these show as long as you have plenty of water and sit in the shade you'll have a great time..... go for it.

Hi Goat, I may be mistaken but your Lab is only around 10 months ish, so is still really quite young to be embarking on a gruelling day out like this. Do not be put off, but please make sure you have plenty of rests for her, at least 20mins at a time, and carry water . It does sound like a very long day but I dont know how much of this will be travel time. But out of the 4+ hours, her maximum walking time should only be roughly an hour. I know you are sensible, but me being me, ;( just like to make sure that the whole thing will not be too over the top walking wise. Have fun and enjoy your day.

I don't know about Labs but Leo has been having full days out for ages (he's a 1yr old sheltie) - Just make sure she has plenty of water (and probably some of your picnic lol) and let her have some rest time and im sure you will have a great day!
I think it would be alright, as long as you can get away to quieter areas for rest periods, and also ensure you don't do things like go into crowded tents where a dog may get paws or tail trodden on :)

HI
Kay you are right she is nearly a year old. But we have decided not to take her especially as the weather is not great today.
I think she would be better resting here whilst we run around and get drenched :-)
