Topic Dog Boards / Health / Scratching Stafford ?!

Hi all,

I've got an old type staff boy who has developed an allergy to something. I changed quite a large proportion of his diet a few months back and recently he has been itching quite a bit. Especially it would seem under his front legs and around the face. I am in the midst of trying to diagnose the allergy. I am 99% certain that the allergy is related to his diet...having been isolated onto a Science Plan Ultra Z/d alergen free food for a month the scratching stopped, I introduced back some normal treats etc...unfortunately I've introduced too much variety in a short space of time and now have no idea what is responsible for the re-started scratching.

Having spoken to a few other staff owners it seems that this is quite a common condition, was wondering if anyone out there in cyberland had any experience.

NB - He has had a skin biopsy and does not have any mites etc...

Thanks in advance

Lex

Why dont you just feed him the science plan ultra, as you said he stopped scratching, so i'm thinking it might be the treats.

Hi,

I'm embarking upon another isolted diet routine...no choice really, was just wondering if there was any supporting this condition as being relatively common in staffords.

Thanks
LEX
