Hiya,
I was wondering if anyone had any useful advice on a problem I'm having with my pup Kobi (labrador) he is now 18 weeks old (teething and humping galore) and we have been to 2 puppy classes out of 6. Since we got him we have made sure he's encountered lots of things and people andwe have taken him everywhere with us. The problem is that no matter what we do he gets way over excited when he sees people, I can hardly hold him back anymore, I have tried trying to distract him with treats when other people approach and tried getting him to sit nicely but he just won't calm down. It's getting really embarassing because all the other puppies at class seem much calmer and less interested in people. Any ideas on what I can do?

I have the exact same problem as you but with my 10mth shepherd.I know how feel with this problem. How is he when you walk down the street with him and he sees people approuching or walking on the otherside of the road?Ive just come in from walking Flory after another nightmare walk.Flory like your Kobi is just too excitable and thats the problem

When we are walking ans he sees someone on the other side of the road he gets very excited and strains to get to them, I try to calm him down and get him to sit but it doesn't really help. It didn't seem too big a problem until yesterday when some kids were walking down the road and I held onto Kobi and the kids actually crossed the road and said that he looked scary! I don't want people to be intimidated by my dog (he would only lick them anyway but other people don't know that), it was a real shock to me as I see him as a little puppy but obvioulsy he is 15Kg of muscle and teeth to other people.

Same here Flory just wants to say hello in her excitement but not everyone likes dogs unfortuneatly.Someone only has to speak or walk past in training and thats it shes up and wating to get to them.Ive tried food and toys and she is still exactly the same I got her at 8mths so I havent had her since she was very young.I just hope both of us can sort this out for both of our sakes and the dogs!
