a few of my 7 gsd puppies seem to have white flakey skin mainly on their head & i just wondered if it's normal when they are fighting cause that always seems to be where they bite around their head or is it something to worry about?

It cvould be walking dandruff (Rabbit mites) or scruf sue to something missing in their diet?

they all eat the same complete dry diet 'Wafcol' which is supposed to be good for skin, coat, growth digestive system and all that,
How do they get the other things it could be?

I had exactly the same problem with my last litter......I was worried until my vet saw it & told me not to!!! The heads/top of ears were worst & by 6 weeks one boy had really thin coat & it looked awful, however all I did was very gently sponge with damp cloth 4 times a day & when they were about 8 weeks I added tiny anount of hibiscrub to the water....it was all gone by 10 weeks. :)

I'm not a nutritionist but would'nt the oil out of salmon help or abit of cod liver oil, just a drop, i can't see it doing any damage it's worth giving it a go, just add it to their wafcol
