Gabi was spayed 3 weeks ago but has since been very hyper active. We took her to training yesterday and the instructor advised that some dogs require a version of HRT. Has anyone any experience of this?

I've never heard of it, no.  If it's any consolation, my girl was spayed in january and has since turned into a complete fruit loop, always charging about and throwing rope toys at me!  You are not alone :)  Stick with it, try and keep her occupied - I find doing trick training at home helps a lot to keep girly busy, so far she can stand up on her hind legs and jump a little, spin round, roll over, play dead, wave hi and is almost doing competition heel position (both sides)!!

Yes I must agree. Keeping her amused seems to be the only way at the moment. Hope it does not go on for too long. I've had the same op myself, if I behaved the way she does my husband would have been divorcing me. She has gone backwards in behaviour the same as she was at 6 months.

Many Thanks
Pat

Somtimes if a bitch is not spayed mid season this can happen,we had Sadie spayed 6 weeks before her season was due and we or should i say she starded making bads all over the house and was unsettled, vet said it was a hormone inbalance, she settled after a couple of weeks thank goodness,in future we will have our girls spayed mid season much safer as well.Hope all goes well.

Sheila.
