I just have to have a little boast about my 14 month old boxer "baby" Noe. We had been doing well at pet training classes after problems with our sit stays but we had to take a break for about 6 months due to winter "horsey" commitments. Anyway we went back for the 1st time this week and she was brill and after that class got moved up into the advanced class - she will be carrying things, doing tunnels now etc - I'm sooo exited and proud.
Ramble over,

Excellent well done. Great feeling isnt it.
My old boxer thought stay ment, go to sleep for as long as you like and ignore anyone trying to wake you up.

That`s right, my boxer thinks that "stay" only means as long as you are making eye contact, as soon as you take your eyes ofF him. he is gone.:D

I could leave Bradley in the stay position or rather sleep position, go off make a cup of tea for the rest of the group drink it and then try and wake him. Always used to sleep on his back. Not the most dignified of chaps.
Mind you the dog trainer did not appove of boxer dog ownership so we never got any praise.
My cousin had the exact same problem when she took her Boxer pup to puppy cleasses.
She was told by the "trainer" that they were untrainable and as my cousin had 2 boxers (other one is 10) then the pup would never get on with other dogs

She didn't go back again.

Well done!thats a great achievement!advanced will be so much fun!!
:)
Sounds like a great trainer emma, you won't be going back there will you?! Why wouldn't he approve of owning boxers? If people didn't don't then what would happen to them?!
Great to hear how well your 'baby' is doing. My GSD is 12 now and still remembers her commands of sit and wait.
congratulations - you must be very proud. Our GSD is 12 now and still remembers how to sit and wait, although she is so good, we rarely need to ask her nowadays.
