You should see the state of the estate were i live..it's a disgrace. It's a lovely little area and everyone keeps their homes and gardens really nice but they DO NOT pick up after their dogs. When I walk Ralph out of the estate there is a poop about every six feet...all shapes and sizes so it's a lot of dogs doing it.
Whe I walked Ralph yeaterday I heard someone say 'Oh heres one of the poo monsters!' I mean I don't blame them it gets my back up aswell but a politely informed the man that I too thought it was awful but Ralph wasn't one of the ones leaving his mark all over the place (He will only do his buisiness in his own back garden) But I don't think he believed me. :(
I just had to get that off my chest.

Hi i dont blame you for being annoyed especially with other people just letting there dogs drop there richards the 3rds every where its more annoying when its on the pavements you spend most of your time dodging it but ive had this mishap of dodging one and stepping straight into one i didnt see not very nice,it takes seconds to clear what your dog has done why cant others be responsible for there dogs mess when ever my dogs do it i always make sure i clean it up,but where as most others they see it as a not so done thing shame on them they should have bigger sighns up PICK YOUR DOG POO UP

I think some people don't pick it up because: a) their dogs are off lead and they can't be bothered to wait so just ignore it. b) because they are embarrassed to pick it up, some people are like that! (not me of couse though it IS embarrassing when you are on a main road and the bus goes passed and SLOWS down right by you so everyone can see, and you can see the sniggers from people on the bus). c) because some people just let their dogs out on their own so they don't have to pick it up! (better in the street out of their sight than in their own garden eh?)
It is so annoying when you are one of the few who do clean up after your pet, but get dirty looks off others just because there is a mess further up the road, they believe it could have been you. I agree that there should be notices up and then it hopefully becomes the 'norm' that EVERYBODY cleans up and then others won't snigger but will know you have done the right thing! :)
i totally agree with you there you do get sniggers of certain people when cleaning up what your dog has done but they are just the ignorant ones,at least those who do pick up can walk of with a good clean attitude knowing that we have done right and have stayed on the right side of the law

Just got back from walking Ralph, theres is now a huge poo on th edge of my drive!!!!
oooh not very nice especially on your front you think people would have the decency to clear up after there dogs

While walking with my Elks and my freinds Dobe and baby in pushcahir we saw a notice agaisnt someones wall. It said 'whoever it is that lets their dog poo on their drive had better clean it up, as if they were seen they would be shopped'
We thought it was great, but did worry if they were watching in case they thought it was us :D

Lisa,
My local common is a poo minefield. I stopped taking my dogs there because I got sick of having to look at my feet all the time. And even then at least three times a week I would have to clean my walking shoes outside under the hose to remove poo. Yuch.

yes it is , but if owners are letting their dogs walk themselves how can they be found out not 'scooping the poop', even if there was such a thing as 'poop warden'. something I find irritating is that there's never a 'poop bin' when I want one and I have to carry it home or steal space in someones wheelie bin. perhaps if there were more bins about owners might be more willing to do the right thing

The estate where I live was for a while Dog Poo City. You honestly could not walk 2 yards down the pavement without dodging mounds of the stuff. There are no poo bins (or any bins for that matter) as the council say the kids just set them on fire. I made a total nuisance of myself phoning the person at the council who has the wonderful job of being responsible for dog poo wardens. I phoned and complained constantly until one day I took Copper out on his usual route round the estate and there wasn't one single poo on the pavement (still plenty on the grass mind you). The council even phoned me at home to tell me how many people had been issued with fines in one week! So if you shout loud enough, maybe someone does listen in the end. It's still not perfect round here but at least the culprits are being caught :)

When I first got Bailey it was horrible picking it up now 2 yrs down the line I don't bother at all nobody else picks theirs up so I make a point of saying out loud well they can't blame you bailey when thier kids come home covered in it. Also the poo bin issue I have to take it home with me and now its getting warmer dread the smell when putting bin out!!

We get it all the time :-(
I get the kids to sit outside the house with nappy sacks & offer one to every one they see with a dog who does not pick up the poo!
It works & they pick it up!

Yes, thats how I read it too. It doesn't bother her to pick it up now, although it did in the begining :D

hi
I also hate having to poo dodge, and when you're out walking with a 7 mth old lab, and a 5 year old. Neither of who look where there going. It can get messy.
I must admit though, that although I always picks up woodys poo. A couple of weeks ago, while walking down out local high street. Woody decided to do one. Well that was fine. I had my poo bags with me. But only had 3 off them. Well this was the runniest, smelliest poo ever. I scrapped as much of it as i could. And had to go and knock on a shop window, to beg for some carriers. The shop assistant gave me some. But by now obviously everyone was looking at me. I then had to wipe up the rest. Cause it was that runny. I got as much as i could. But there was a big brown stain on the pavement. Which was still a bit wet
I could just hear everyone muttering "look at that nasty women, letting her dog foul on pavement"
I was so embarassed, I must admit I bent my head, and walked as fast as i could from the scene.
I've now stopped taking him on the School run. As I would be mortified if he did it in the playground
