Hi, my 3 year old cavalier king charles spaniel has an umbilical hernia which he has had since he was a puppy.  The breeder did inform us about it but was told that it should not cause any problems and even may close up.  He still has the hernia which is about the size of 10p coin but this does not cause him any problems whatsoever and even the vet said that it is okay if it does not cause him any problems.  We have therefore decided to leave it and not operate.

if it isn't causing any problems to the dog then he should be fine. just keep an eye on him
