Topic Dog Boards / Health / Interdigital Cysts
- By mrsdil [gb] Date 21.04.05 14:07 UTC
My dog has these all over the bottom of his feet inbetween his toes....the vet has removed the worst one by taking away the webbing where the cyst was but has said there is nothing really they can do about the others and will only remove them if they get as big as the one removed as it too painful for the dog to remove them all.

he said it is just something my dog has and he will always have them.....has anyone got any experience of these...i feel awful just leaving them without trying something to help....are they painful for the dog?

Advice appreciated

Thanks Michelle

Hi,

Henry my lab used to suffer with them.  He had them removed once but they came back.

I can imagine they are painful.  Can you imagine a big cyst between your toes! ouch!  One of Henry's actually became infected at one point and he was in obvious discomfort with it and had to have antibiotics.

I then started to soak his paws in Epsom Salt water and touch wood, he hasn't had them now for about 6 months!
