I think that is what I have got  !     I have to have keyhole surgery on my knee, and wonder if anyone else on the board has/knows of anyone else who has had this treatment (got to have it quickly, before I run out of PPP cover when I retire ;) ) .    Any idea of recovery time?

And no, I am NOT going to go into my crate :D

...I suppose you'll also refuse to be taken to the loo on the lead :)

Yes - I object to being pulled out into the garden late at night for a last-thing wee!!! ;)

I had both kneecaps replaced back in the 1960's after having them broken in a hockey match & because the private hospital that did the operation under the insurance covering playing hockey cocked up the op I had to have Keyhole surgery done under a LA instead of a GA to correct the problem by the NHS It was all very technical & done some 20 odd years after the original op(I had almost constant pain in those years)at Jimmy's in Leeds(where the surgeon was)I was like I have totally different wonderfully painfree knees

Snap!!!   Mine are the result of hockey abuse back in the 60's - but because I seemed to spend from 66-72 in a state of permanent pregnancy (well, I was always about 6 months preggers when the hospital appointments came through :D ), I wasn't operated on then......just got used to putting up with the pain - until recently when it started to wake me up at night - and it dawned on me, that as I have PPP here at work, I might as well use it before I retire.

How long were you hopping around?  I know that back in the 60s, they were talking about 12 weeks on crutches  !

I have had luxating patellas. I dislocated my right one in an accident 26 years ago and spent the next year on crutches as it kept dislocating. My first op was in 1980, back whne keyhole surgery wasn't done. I was in plaster for 8 weeks and then had 6 months of physio. Unforunately, it didn't work properly and dislocated a few times over the years. Eventually it bacame painful and I found I was calling Hubby to come and get me when it locked whilst walking the dogs, so I went for another op two years ago. It would have been keyhole surgery but it wasn't worth it considering I had a 4 inch scar there already, so they used that same scar. This time, no plaster, weight bearing after 48 hours, physio after 6 weeks and everything is fantastic :) According to what work yo do, you could be back after 12 weeks :) Any help?

I assume they are shortening the tendons?
