This morning we lost one of our girls after having 10 pups delivered by c section. The vet persuaded her owner to have her speyed at the same time. Once she came home, she was not right, so she was taken back to the vets where he opened her up again. She had a heart attack on the operating table. We desperately need to find a surrogate mother to help the pups through. If any one can help please email me asap. sorry if this message is short and blunt, but I am too upset to go into to much detail.
Many thanks
Becky

Hi Naybee
I have passed telephone numbers onto Mia's owner who is a friend of ours. Just waiting to hear if she has contacted anyone yet. We are all mortified at what has happened, Mia's owner especially, but we have to put the grief to one side now and concentrate on finding these babies a mummy for a few weeks.

oh such good news!! :-) :-) :-)
Debbie is still hand rearing the others as Fern has only 3 teats producing milk though the pups seem to be sucking on teats my pup didn't use we might try a few more pups in a day or to.

Hi Debra,
What a lovely tale and what a super maternal bitch your girl must be :) thrilled that these little pups are getting the opportunity to have such a great chance after a horribly sad start.
Give them all {{{hugs}}} from this sentimental young (!!!) fool :P

Hi Becky,
Great news that some of the babies have a surrogate mum already - I was so sorry to read your post and pray that they all thrive. Pass on my thoughts for it being some comfort to Mia's owners that her babies at least have a fighting chance. They must be devastated.
sincerely, Teri x

wee one,s
yours
sharon

So, so sorry to hear of the loss of your bitch, pity you did not live nearer me as ive got 2 bitches feeding pups at the moment and another few would not make that much difference, I see you have found a "mum" for some of your pups, so hopefully things are going o.k. for you, you will be so tired hand feeding I.ve had to do this in the past up every 2 hrs to hand rear, but its worth it in the end when the pups get up on their feet and start to eat for themselves. Good Luck. give pups a cuddle from me. ((((hugs to you)

Hi Everyone
As Debra has said Fern has 3 pups with her, another friend of mine has 3 with her girl who has a litter of 6 that are 2.5 weeks old and Debbie is hand rearing 4. We are all keeping our fingers crossed for them. They have a much better chance of survival now having these two super new mummies to look after them.
Thanks to everyone involved and to everyone who has sent us their wishes.
Becky

hi just wondering how the pups are doing
Hi the 3 pups Fern has taken on are doing well. She has taken to them as her own and still gives her pup who is now 7 weeks a quick snack. Its marvellous how she can play rough with him and be very gentle with her foster pups. The other 7 are also doing well.
Debra
This thread has brought tears to my eyes, both sad then happy. Please keep us updated to all their progress and well done to everyone who offered help and of cause the foster mum, she must be a real star. :-)
