There is a book (Dog Showing- from beginners to winners) it is written by Robert Killick and i think it could be orderd from most book shops as thats whare i got mine. Also you should go along to local dog shows and chat to people who show and watch the breeds being judged. You will pick up more from watching and practice than a book will ever teach you, altho its a good place to start!!

I have just brought the KC video on conformation and movement which would give you an idea what to look for. Also do try some companion shows to get practice and, of course, a good ring craft class - I have learned all my knowledge from watching and taking part. Have you found a ring craft class in your area. If not the KC website might have one listed near you or alternatively I am told you can search on canine societies.
thank you both for the info you have been so helpful.

I would also suggest ring craft classes! there, you and your girl can have lots of practice, meet new people and dogs, and also have lots of fun!!! Best of luck!
