In my experience most bitches scream when they are being mated. I take it you are certain she is ready? If she is a maiden bitch you could try a digital examination to ensure that she is physically able to accept the dog.
If everything is in order you probably will just need to hold her steady and ignore her screams.

thanks for the reply,as yet he hasnt even attempted to penetrate her he is a very caring male and you can tell her noise upsets him,i always allow them to court 1st and he knows he cant mount unless i give him a release word,i wish all males like that :D

This is common for maiden bitches, IME, and usually once the tie's achieved they're perfectly content - almost smug! Have her owner hold her collar firmly on both sides of her neck when the dog mounts so that she stands still. Has the vet checked her for a stricture?

All of mine yell a bit.........lol.  but once the tie is established, they are fine!

Ive just been through the same thing with my bitch, and she screamed, and all the male did was look at her, but she can be vocal at the best of times, but i was told it was not unsual for her to be like that, even when he was mounting and just touching her she would scream but later on in the day we finally managed to get her mated when they had tied she did squeal, and then she just wimpered, but when she was mated again she was fine, all i did was reasure her and tell her she was fine (easy for me to say lol), now hopefully she is 3 weeks gone now, take her for a scan soon.
she should be fine once they have mated.

i have held her against my leg so she cant twist at him the 1st time he touched her she screamed then the 2nd she seemed to know it was ok just the action going on the minute no real stuff,i think he wants to make sure she is comfortable 1st...bless him

My Lab. poppy was a novice and screamed like mad the first time, had to hold her for 20 minutes of the tie!  i felt so nasty...
she obviously caught on to the idea very quickly though cos they tied 5 more times in the next 3 days  [bit of a tart!] carry ing at least 6 pups due on May 13th!   :-)
