Hi, I need to find a groomer in North London, near Finchley or highgate who will Hand Strip my standard Schnauzer (and not just clip it but call it hand strip like somebody who works in my area!) .  The lady that used to do it now has a terse message left on her answering machine saying that she will no longer be taking any bookings and to find someone else!  Arrggh!  Easy enough to say but I truly am having a nightmare and my poor girl needs a haircut.  By someone kind and gentle and who won't cut her (she's been traumatised by one groomer!).

Any advice?

You could try the breed club who could put you in touch with local breeders, assuming yours in not.  They might be able to make suggestions or they may even do grooming themselves.
