Hi Welshie,

I don't see any reason why not - I assume she's been bathed before at some stage and not freaked out during the process or been upset while being dried off?  Providing she's been alright with it in the past she should come to no harm at all but obviously make sure she's on a non-slip mat and you have someone on hand to help you keep her secure during the process plus help you to lift her in and out of the bath.

Regards, Teri :)

Hi Welshie  -  it sounds as though your girl may have cheyletiella (rabbit mite) which ordinary dog shampoos cannot irradicate.  I use Frontline to get rid of this problem, but you would need to seek your Vet's advice as to whether it can be used on inwhelp bitches.

do not use Frontline on your bitch when in whelp

and a bath should be fine as long as its not to hot or to cold and you help he in and out

hiya, can I first just say what a wonderful web site this is and how glad I am Ive found it.  My six year old bitch is due to have her first litter (HOPEFULLY) on or around May 13th.  I was just wondering about bathing her as she is normally in a kennel outside with our dog and I would love her to come into our home very shortly in order for her to get used to living with us again. This site has helped me with lots of questions I had about having puppies and now I just can't wait for the big day, I just hope all goes well for my lovely soppy, soft hearted pet.  I just know she will be a wonderful mum.
