How can I describe it, I'm looking for a piece of metal which basically means you can keep your car rear door open (with dogs in back) but lock it because you have this "device".   I usually leave the back door open and lock the rest of the car but I had a huge panic last saturday when it was really sunny as the breeze had blown the door shut leaving my dog inside.  Fortunately, I wasn't gone long and the dog was ok, but I dread to think what may have happened.

So, excuse me for being dim, but I can't think what to call this or where to get one from.
