My 2 year old GSP has been off his food on & off for nearly a month now. I have been managing to get him to eat enough with lots of encouragement etc so he is still up to weight. His poos are normal, he's up to date on worming etc.
I had put it down to next door's bitch being in season, but it now seems to have gone on for so long.
I was wondering just how long a male can lose his appetite for when there is a bitch in season around?
Can it go on for even longer if she has been mated? (Bitch was mated nearly 3 weeks ago).

I am now beginning to think that his lack of interest in food may have something to do with his heightened interest in hunting. Seems to be spending so much time outside pointing & focussing on what is going on in the fields around us.
If anyone reading this has knowledge of HPR breeds, could you let me know if this sounds normal?
I have stopped making a fuss at mealtimes, so sometimes he is missing a meal, usually breakfast.
