Topic Dog Boards / General / Dalmatian rescues?
- By leanne [gb] Date 07.04.05 14:26 UTC
I am in the awful position of having to rehome my dalmatians as I am getting a divorce and I am unfortunately not in a position to keep them and I am rather fussy about where they go. I was wondering if any one knew of a dalmatian rescue or some where that will try to rehome them to the best possible people? This is the hardest decision i have had to make and if I could keep them then I would so I would really appreciate any advice, I am also short of time as I am currently in  an army house which gives me 93 days to vacate.

Hi Leanne,
Contact Nina Byles on 07905 495084 who's the Dalmatian Welfare co-ordinator.

Thank you for that phone number. Do you know if they take older dals or if its just pups etc because to be honest i am petrified about what will happen to my older dal and I can't stand the thought of him stuck in a normal dog pound as his age and bad habits would go against him?

Leanne they will definately take older dalmatians if you look on the british dalmatian clubs website you will find they have dogs of all ages.  Ring Nina she is very nice.

Don't worry, they take on dals of all ages who need rehoming. Only the other week I did an assessment of a 5-year-old dog. If you look here you'll see one of the dals needing a new home is 9 years old. Marriage break-up is one of the most common reasons for dogs needing to be rehomed, and they're generally older. Please phone Nina - she's very nice and understanding.
