The normal procedure for a dog becoming a stud is that bitch owners see him and his virtes displayed against his rivals in the showring or field.  they then approach the owner for information about his Health tests pedigree to ascertain if he will be a good match for their bitch to produce pups better than the parents.

Well known ancestors at the back of a pedigree mean little though is nice it is the parendts and grandparents virtues and faults that will have most bearing on any puppies.
