Thanks for the reply Teri.
The reason I was sonsidering a front carrier (think baby sling - my kids loved theirs and was hoping pup would too - snuggled with mum) was so I had the option of taking my pup with me if I walked my kids to school (I can stay at home with him, as my hubby will take the kids to school), he'll be my first puppy (have owned two adult dogs) that's why I'm unsure if this is a good idea. I know he shouldn't be meeting other dogs until 13wks old but even then he won't be able to make the 30 mins round trip to school. Since to us a dog is a member of the family any advice is welcome.
Thanks

Hi again Guest, why not join?  It will make things much simpler for you to ask additional Qs and of course to get more replies :)  JG made a good point under your last post re the weight your puppy will be at 13 weeks - she's right, it's not going to be very practical :(

I'm guessing your 13 week time slot is due to vacs timing?  One week after my pups have their first jab I lead walk them away from doggy areas -  just a few minutes at a time - but it may help relieve aching arms when he gets a bit heavier for you to do that in short bursts on your way to and from school - but it's difficult to give advice without knowing more details ...

We're all going to want every tiny detail about him and up to the minute progress reports :P  Plus there are lots of Lab experts on here should your tiny bundle of joy seem to be a tiny tearaway :D  I'm sure the whole family is very excited about having a new puppy - especially as you've missed the early stages before in dog ownership.  There are bound to be lots of things you'll want to share or query and you'll find on here a great source of info so joining will make things much easier.  Sincerely hope to hear from you soon, Regards Teri :)
