Are Choc labs harder to train than black or yellow.  Some peope have said that because of the breeding to get their colour they are naughtier and much more difficult to own.

I do believe this question has popped up before and the majority if not all said there is no difference if your dog is from good breeding.

Hello there, I have got all three coulours of labs and I use mine for work. My 3 black labs are fantastic workers and learned quickly but they have their faults ( including chewing up their beds, blankets water buckets and so on!!! ) My chocolate bitch has the same parents as my best black bitch but has took alot longer to mature and training has been harder BUT, my yellow bitch was very hard to train and she came from good working lines where as the others had a few show lines. I would suggest that you get a pup from a good breeder who has years of experience, (make sure you only buy from dogs that have had health tests done, e.g eyes hips and elbows) try contacting the kennel club for information on breeders. Join up for puppy classes were their will be experts to help you with your training and socialising. Labradors are sporting dogs so need alot of exercise in adult life you also need to keep their brain active and they love to learn. My chocolate lab is laying fast asleep at my feet at the mo, she is very loyal, if you are just after a pet and you have decided that a labrador is the right breed for you then I can see no problem in having a chocolate.
