Hi,

I just need a approx. neck measurement for an adult Basset Hound bitch, it's for a collar fitting!

I'd be very grateful for any help.

Thanks.

Hi
A collar upto about 18 inches should fit a Basset Hound adult. my local pet shop allows you to take your dog into the shop, so I would sudgest that you would get a better fit if you took your Basset into a pet shop for a fitting.
I do use a collar on my hound for the name tag, but I use a harness when we go for walks.
I hope that this helps, you good luck.

Hi ive been a basset shower -breeder for 20years, and always request that my puppy people do not use collers on bassets as the skin under bthe neck needs to "breath" If the neck is risticted with a collar, the layers of skin may rub together and can lead to skin problems- ive even know bassets skin getting cought in the collar and an operation needed to free it. I suggest a rop slip lead which you can purchase for as little as £1-99 and have your basset chipped at your vet-Hope this has been of help Houndgirl
