Saturday at UK Toydog I was so depressed, Mildrfed was shortlisted to final 7 in Puppy bitch (out of 22) but not placed :(  This  was her 4th Ch show, and she has been placed every other time, even Crufts, so perhaps ?I was getting complacent?  Yesterday at N & S Shields, at Hurworth, made up for it, she got not only BPIB but BoB beating her Mum and several other adults, then got Toy Gr 2 and the Puppy Group - I was so proud of her!  I suppose thats what makes it so much fun, the unpredictability of it all.

bye

its the way it works, surely if same person always won it would get boring?

in one month you may not get placed at 3 shows and feel like giving up, but the 4th show you will do well and will relise that you have to stay in!

I have had 2 BOB and group 3's with my aussie lad on the trot.  I know that we will get knocked down the line in the near future!

A long, long time ago when Asti was coming up for 3 (She's coming up for 14 now!) I went to a gundog group limited  show to give support to a 'breed' judge in Scotland.    Out of the entry of 6...Asti was the one that went walking!

A couple of weeks later we went to Crufts and in the biggest class of LM's from the entry (PGB) she won it under a very respected HPR judge!   Find the logic in that one????   She then went on that year to amass a lot of first placings.

Yep...we had the same recently. At Crufts we had my 2 year old dog getting 2nd in PG and considered for the RCC and my 4 year old getting 4th out of 5 in Limit. At an open show last weekend the 4 year old went BAVNSC and then RBIS and was told by the judge the 2 year old was very nice but a bit heavy built.
Thats what I love...every days different

Molly got a RCC at Bournmouth next time she got thrown.  I think it is one of the things I have found hardest to cope with in dog showing but I had a bad year last year so had much time to learn to be humble ;)

Yes showing is so unpredictable, my friends sheltie got BOB at St Patricks Day show in Dublin but last saturday did not even get placed at Combined Int show in Dublin!! I could not believe it!
Well done yesterday Gwen! :)

Well done Gwen.

Judging or watching it I think is an amazing thing( maybe crazy would be the better wording ;-)  )

As long as you win some when you are losing some then I guess it is worth while..

I always f9nd I ahve had my best wins when least expected adn either after being dumped at a previous show, ro get dumped next time.

Went RBIS with my Jozi at South West Hound Club show on Easter Monday, one of 3 Elkhounds up and down the country going BIS or RBIS over Easter, so a good week for the breed.

The ups and downs of shwoing are what make it fun. We went to a show with our young puppy dog which eveyone said we would do well at as he was the type that the judge liked......... he got slung but his dad got placed and they are both very similair except puppy is obviously not as mature or filled out yet. Then we went to a show where we thought we wouldn't get a sniff but ended up getting a 3rd in Puppy and 4th in AV Working when he was only 6 1/2 mths old. Had a weekend where he went RBPD and BP and PG1 then the next weekend nothing. Waiting for the puppy bitch to come out and see what fun we have with her!!!!!!!!
